"50 miles into the Main"..., That was the agreed location as to where the Lost Colonists were to go should they have to leave Roanoke Island. That seems to be exactly where they went, though this part of the story has been literally covered up for several centuries. The map shown on this wall hanging shows eastern Bertie County as the location of the permanent fort, and where "site X" is located today.
